SENSO LVL Size Weight and Specification Chart

An LVL size and weight chart uses beam thickness, depth, length and wood density to give a planned weight. Use it to compare sections, plan packs and check freight before an order. For example, a 45 × 240 mm SENSO LVL member weighs 7.02–8.42 kg/m when density is 650–780 kg/m³. A 6 m piece is about 42.12–50.54 kg. However, the chart does not show load limits, approved size scope, final pack weight or a safe lift.

Use the LVL size and weight chart for early planning

First, choose the final thickness and depth. Next, choose a wood density and member length. The formula is:

Planned kg/m = thickness (mm) × depth (mm) × density (kg/m³) ÷ 1,000,000.

The current SENSO range uses 650–780 kg/m³ for planning. So the chart shows low and high results, not one exact number. The range can change with LVL type, wood mix, treatment and moisture. The WoodSolutions LVL page also shows why LVL sizes and uses vary.

This LVL size and weight chart gives useful cases from the listed SENSO Frame LVL size grid. Still, it is not a stock promise. Check the exact grade, section, treatment and length before quoting.

Work out member and pack weight

For a 45 × 240 mm section, the chart gives 7.02–8.42 kg/m. So one 6 m member is about 42.12–50.54 kg. Forty members hold about 1,684.8–2,021.8 kg of LVL before packing.

  1. Find kg/m from section and wood density.
  2. Use the final length to find one-piece weight.
  3. Use the piece count to find the wood mass.
  4. Add straps, wrap, bearers, pallets and labels.
  5. Use the mill pack list before loading.

As a result, buyers can compare container plans before mill work starts. Yet never use a fixed pack rate for a final lift plan. Pack design changes with length, piece count and export wrap.

In addition, AS/NZS 4357.0:2022 sets the structural LVL product route. Yet one standard number does not prove that every size is in the approved scope. Use current product files and the structural LVL decision guide before approval.

Know the limits of an LVL size and weight chart

This chart plans weight; it does not select a beam. Strength, stiffness, bearing, joints, span and site use still need a design check. Also, a chart value is not an approved crane or forklift load.

Actual weight can fall outside the range because of moisture, treatment, coatings and tolerances. Pack materials add more. So use the LVL beam sizes comparison guide for section context, then use the final pack list for freight.

What density should a buyer use?

Use the current product density if you have it. If not, use the stated 650–780 kg/m³ range and show both results.

Does chart weight show how much load a beam can carry?

No. Weight does not prove bending, shear, stiffness, bearing, joint strength or an allowed span.

How can buyers plan a full pack?

Use kg/m × length × piece count. Then add the actual mass of straps, wrap, bearers, labels and pallets.

Are 12 metre lengths always offered?

No. Special lengths depend on section, grade, mill plans, freight and unloading. So confirm them before you issue the order.
